Hola desde Palma, Bienvenido a la edición de octubre!
Hello from Palma, welcome to October’s issue! (I think)….
That’s as much Spanish I can do at the moment, it should be a second language the amount of time I spend out here.
Where is the year going!...
Firstly, some of you may have realised, the last couple of weeks of September we were experiencing some website issues. Thank you for being patient, it is now back up and running but there is still some work to do so it may not be running as per usual.
Well, well, what another busy month we have just had with the Major’s Memorial Trial, another successful year complete. Read more on that later on.
The Calendar meeting has been held so this should appear in November’s journal so you can get a head start on next year’s event. If there is anything you would like to add for next year please just send an email across, we like to have new ideas, whether it is just a social or a caravan camping site, we would love to hear your ideas.
Please find attached with your journal the Financial Statement put together by Phil Rock. Any questions please feel free to contact him or me.
Coming up this month we have an RTV at Birdlip on the 1st, our monthly Social Night on the 6th and the Half Term Holiday Rally at Stepaside from the 21st, check out the website and contact Dave Ball to book in. The more the merrier, this is a great site and not too far away. Look forward to seeing you there.
Moving onto November which will soon come around, we have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Land Rover Sports and Social Club, Solihull starting at 8pm.
The deadline for proposals has now past. Closing was 27th September. However. if you are interested in coming onto the committee, please fill out and nomination form and send this in, all forms and details, including deadlines can be found in the journal and online.
I would like to thank Tracey Allen who has stepped down from the role of Press and Publicity and will not be standing again at this year’s AGM. Thank you for your time and ideas put forward to the club.
Current vacant positions are, Vice Chair, Green Lane Coordinator, Press and Publicity and Trials Coordinator. Unfortunately, as you may have seen, Dave Ball is also stepping down from Caravan and Camping at the AGM which is a shame as he has done a great job these past 3 years and it is a shame to lose him.
Please check out the club merchandise as we have the enamel grill badges back and ready to sell. Liz is getting ready for the winter as we now have woolly hats and waterproof jackets available to buy.
If you would like to know more or order something, please contact Liz email@example.com
Thank you to club members who have shared their stories about either travelling or rebuilding a vehicle, we love to hear what you have been up too so keep sending them in, we would like to hear all about it.
We have put MROC forward to help with the 2018 National Rally TYRO held next May, we would like to get as many members on board with this so please contact me if this is something you would like to get involved with, the more people the easier it will be!
To get more involved join in with the social evenings, it’s a chance to speak to people face to face and they are always good fun.
Don’t forget to look ahead at the Christmas party, meal and rally in December.
Lots to do, looking forward to seeing you at one of the events of not all.
Well, I think I have gone on enough for this month.
